THE BODY SPEAKS

The Body Speaks explores the body as a language of its own — a territory where emotion, memory and instinct become visible before they are put into words.

Through light, shadow, gesture and the relationship between the body and its surroundings, Margarita Rousso looks beyond the body as form. The photographs approach it as a living surface on which inner states are continuously written and revealed.

Bringing together black-and-white and colour works, The Body Speaks moves between presence and abstraction, intimacy and distance, vulnerability and strength. The body becomes both subject and landscape — a place where what cannot always be articulated can still be seen.

Margarita Rousso is a Bulgarian artist and photographer whose practice explores identity, intimacy, memory and the relationship between inner experience and the visible world, working in the sphere of contemporary art photography.
